en route to Peru...

an you would not believe how frustrated I was with my IDSC08 video... I'd been working on it monday from 2:30 pm- 9:30 pm when the mac froze, spinning and all. Anyway so I shut off the computer, and when it restarted, ALL MY FILES WERE GONE! Off of my account AND my external HD. So I got to the computer help desk, and there was basically nothing they could do, apparantly all the files remain temporary until the computer logs out which "solidifies" them. Man I had friggin tears in my eyes I was so pissed. Then, the fire alarm went off so we all had to peace. Yeah, It kinda sucked. So I ended up staying at school till 4:30 in the morning getting in all done. I mean in the end it was worth it cause it all got done, but boy... I was pretty pissed. Slept for an hour or so, then got up, went back to school to present the video. We didn't do too bad after all 14/15 on the presentation! Hopefully we get a good mark on the actual video too. I was pretty surprised at my ability to keep my eyes open for a good few hours that day, I'm guessing it was some adrenalin reaction and coffee? I'm not sure, but even after being at school for a while I only slept for another hour at home before headed to Brianna's place for an IDS third years leaving party. It  just a whole bunch of chillin and a lot of homemade desserts...mmm. A nice break.

Anyway next day Iris and I headed downtown and as to referring to the title of this post... I had my first twinkie! It kinda sucked, I'm not going to lie. It was like a swiss roll, nah swiss rolls are better cause they are way more fresh. Anyway, we headed downtown to study at robarts, got a bit of that done, but I wasn't taking it too seriously anyhow and as more of a chill break between the study massive I'm in now.. Anyway we got matching shoes at honest eds! 5 bucks! Kinda funny that iris and I now share the same shoes, since we dress pretty differently. But anyway, it was a nice change from my soaked vans.... boy the weathers gotten pretty crappy lately.

Man I had the creepiest dream that night featuring yvonne viv marco and myself and Mr. Chu from grade 7 in my Toronto house... who tried to kill/rape all of us, and held a knife up to me (i know exactly which knife from my house too) saying "i'll knife you", I peaced at that point, and woke up. Creeps man, I woke up and I swear my heart was beating super hard.

Next day was pretty productive, I ended up getting all the chapters I need for my deferred Economics and Development exam on monday, nice hey? Had the radio show that night, it was pretty chill, just hung out with Ashley, Justin and Beulah (and a short appearence by Alex) played some music, and did some chatroullette. Hah after Beulah Asley Justin and I headed to Justins place for apple pie and ice cream, it was soooo good. The four of us managed pretty well to polish off the entire carton. And Justin has a new pet cockatiel named Jack. Cool thing is that Ashley's family breeds birds and well... it is one of Ashley's.

Anyway I had another dream last night, featuring Glenn and Isaiah, weird mixe yeah? It was about Glenn telling me a story about Isaiah, and Glenn and I were in DB in like a "jungle" setting, but it wasn't too jungly cause we could see the ferrys going in. It was pretty crazy.

AND then, last night I had another dream where Ben and I were headed to Peru... I remember my dad was there for a bit like at my place in HK maybe? Anyway we were on this flight, and I remember the plane dipping real low. I know Ben had his board with him, hah guess its Ben so he would, that makes sense. We were going to a city called the pas? or le pas? or something like that... I think that resonated with me from the IDS potluck cause someone metioned someone who had previously had their co-op in Peru... and it was in a city that sounded something like that. But I looked all online and couldn't find any Peruvian city caused something Pas... Maybe Pasco? There is a Peruvian Region called Pasco. All I know is that it started with a P and is one of the bigger cities in Peru. Not Lima, but here's a photo of Lima anyway...

But yeah its weird, I ususally can't remember my dreams at all. Wonder if I'll rmb anything tonight... Hopefully I'll doze off soon cause I've been sleeping at 4 AM ish evey night and waking up at noon or one everyday... I mean its been good cause I've been sleeping solid, but just the timing isn't so good for exams. Anyways I took a few  Cikuseed and stopped looking over my notes so... it should be good.

So new news from the Kong says my mum and sister are moving to toronto during fall semester. To be honest I am quite stoked if it all works out, having a "home" again is really quite appealing... having a stocked fridge, and I don't know just the perks of living at home. Plus my Mum would get some place on a subway line, since I highly doubt she'll be driving here. But since my Mum doesn't have all the knots tied in HK she was holding back from telling me, she pretty much only told me cause I've been asking her about my living for next year. I was a little pissed that my family kept me out of the secret, cause yeah obviously their moving here is going to affect what I do in the Fall, especially we my having to get shit together for a (possible) Oslo semester. Anyway, thank god my landlady is letting me make a final decision a little later (under the guise that I need to see if I get accepted into Oslo, well it IS partically pertaining...). Also if they do end up coming over and I do end up living here, it'll affect what happens to my roommates. Anyway, I hope it works out, it'll be cool if it does.

Payce, I'm gna try sleep. 2 Exams Monday, arrggghh!

Countdown post time:

13 Days till Last Exam
23 Days till HK

kicking the cold in the butt

So as it turns out, I didn't end up finishing my anthro money paper on time cause I was feeling crappy and what not, so I headed to the doctor's office today. As I expected I was in for a 2 hour line (at least this time the waiting room/ office wasn't in shambles-- I went to the doctor's last semester and it was RIDICULOUS how run down it was.)for the doctor to tell me what I already knew-- you have a cold, drink soup, drink water, and rest. Really, I must have been the biggest waste of his time.At least my doctor had a sense of humor "while coming from a purely medical perspective I would reccommend you just to rest, the reality is that you are in university and will probably be dragging your carcass out of bed to get work done." I think another added plus to the visit was that he was quite gung ho with the fact that I lived in HK, hah, he was Chinese, and not surprisingly took a fatherly form asking me how exactly I was planning on putting to use a degree in Anthropology and International Development. I mean the real benefit of it all was that I got a note out of all of it (which I had to fork over 20 bucks to get!!), thus enabling me to extend my anthro money essay and my anthro native essay (a second extension lol)with out getting marks off (which really is quite key when these are final papers).

So as per to Dr. Guo's advice, I've consumed a ridiculous quantity of liquids and Vit. C today-- I'm on can of vegetable soup #2 (by the way- thats TWO servings of vegetables in there) since 3pm, 2 oranges and had probably somewhere in the range of 10 cups of lemon ginseng green tea, and lots more water. IMPRESSED? I think that in combination with my 1 hour nap half way through are doing the trick as well since I have made a considerable amont of progress on my anthro money paper!

Ocha And, I got my Oslo app in time. Yeah! Just have to wait a couple of weeks to see what happens in terms of interviews. I really hope that I make the cut for SOME sort of bursary, cause really if I don't come up with 3,800 canadian bucks... Oslo isn't happeneing.

Being sick sucks, Bouncing souls kick ass

So funny thing with vivian having strep throat is that now i think i'm coming down with the flu! Which really isn't so cool cause this week is killer... In music class today, Kyle reccommended me to just drink tea and eat fruit to pull an allnighter..."natural sugars take the body less time to work!" So , here I am with lemon ginseng honey tea (with really hardly any ginseng in it really), and grapes. I hope this workds!! I'm not too sure if I'll be pulling an all nighter, but its clear that even with 2 night flu tablets and rolling around the bed for 2 hours that I'm not sleeping... So I'm up again... avoiding ANOTHER anthro Essay. I'm pretty happy with the ways my essay grades have been turing out this semester, and I really want to keep that up, especially since my marks will probably drop during exams.

Re discovered Bouncing Souls, SOOO good. I haven't really listened to much of their newer stuff, but I'm liking it quite a lot, especially Midnight Mile. Same as transplants, hah i never really got into them but off of a whim i downloaded a whole bunch of transplants songs, and zaaallll good. AND SWAMP THING are so friggin good, I've heard about them here and there but never really listned to them, but have to say I REALLy enjoy them, I think its the dudes vocals + what I've heard off the lyrics... going to have to look more into that.

Can't wait for this week to be just DONE and DONE. My Oslo app is due wednesday and is coming together alright. I really hope that I get it, that would be friggin sick, especially since exchanging was always something I sort of wanted to do in high school. Only thing is... being is HK/ Toronto/ Oslo in a year is going to be interesteing in terms of "doing" things, I don't know like making progress with interviews and stuff. I mean I'm sure I could just carry that over to Oslo hah have "the Oslo report" and start a radio show over there...
Who knows, just have to wait an see I guess.
